Iris image enhancement and denoising

The normalized iris image still has low contrast and may have non-uniform illumination caused by the position of light sources. All these may affect subsequent feature extraction and pattern matching. We enhance the iris image by means of local histogram equalization and remove high-frequency noise by filtering the image with a low-pass Gaussian filter.
